Prayer

Prayer is a privilege. It allows us to participate in God’s work. He’s working even if we don’t pray. But He loves to hear His children pray. Of course he knows what’s on our hearts and minds, but our Father delights to hear it from us. He wants us to draw near to Him. Prayer is not overcoming his reluctance, it is laying hold of His willingness. Come to Him for “even this.” “This” could be a small thing. It matters to Him if it matters to you. Prayer shows our dependence on God. This is never more apparent than in these times when one’s next breath is not a guarantee. We pray for healing, not only physical, but also spiritual healing. “We can pray for the hard thing to go away, and we must never stop praying for a bravery that’s BIGGER than any hard thing.” – Ann Voskamp Prayer might not change our circumstances, but it may change our perspective. Prayer can align our will with God’s so that we want the things that He wants. Let us be prayerful people who are not surprised when the answer arrives because it’s what we’ve been on our knees for THIS. ENTIRE. TIME. “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” – Romans 12:12
